Seventeen people were killed in a Russian attack on Ukraine in the Donetsk region in the east in one of the deadliest attacks in months. A further 31 people are also believed to have been injured. Russia is thought to have used a missile that cannot be intercepted by air defences because the target is so close to where it鈥檚 fired. Politician Liudmyla Buimister is also a sergeant in the Ukrainian armed forces who has just returned from Bakhmut. She told Newsday this was a direct hit on civilians but would not break the spirit of the people. "Obviously this is a confirmation of Russian terrorist tactics... attacks aimed at civilian infrastructure."
