Newshour

Available for over a year

Mustafa al-Trabelsi, had attended a meeting of officials in Derna to discuss the risk of floods in the city and the state of the dams that subsequently broke. He wrote a poem, warning of the coming danger. On the night of the storm there was a final entry on Mustafa's Facebook page: " We have only one another in this difficult situation. Let's stand together until we drown". His poem has been widely shared online. Newshour spoke with Khaled Muttawa, who translated the poem into English. He shared his thoughts on the poem and how much Mustafa al-Trabelsi appeared to love his city.
