3% experience Seasonal Affective Disorder

Summaya Mughal

Available for over a year

It's that time of year where the night's are drawing in, its feeling colder, and if you're up early, it's often dark and harder to get out of bed. The Royal College of Psychiatry estimates that about 3% of the population experience SAD, (Seasonal Affective Disorder), suggesting that more than a million adults in the UK live with the emotional challenges, lowered mood, and feelings of anxiety that can occur during the winter months, when access to natural light is limited. Professor Hester Parr, is from the University of Glasgow鈥檚 School of Geographical & Earth Sciences department, and she caught up with Summaya Mughal to tell her more about it.
