Blandford boy's heroic pool rescue
Available for over a year
An 11-year-old boy, who's been training as a lifeguard, has been recognised after rescuing a child from drowning. Whilst swimming in a hotel pool in Lanzarote, Bertie from Blandford noticed a boy of a similar age struggling. Seeing the boy fighting to stay above the water and shouting for help, Bertie put his arm under the young boy's armpit and pulled him to safety. Bertie's mum Helen and swimming teacher Sue Dyer say they're both incredibly proud of him.
