Magma shifting under the Earth's crust has caused hundreds of earthquakes in Iceland in what Is believed to be a precursor to an eruption. Scientists stress that a 15km river of magma running under the region is still active, but they say that seismic activity has decreased. Alda Sigmundsdottir is a writer and journalist in Reykjavik, which has also been experiencing the multiple earthquakes. She's been writing about the situation on her "Letter from Iceland" newsletter.
