Israeli forces have entered Gaza's largest hospital, Al-Shifa, in what the Israeli military says is a "targeted" operation. Israel accuses Hamas of running a command centre in tunnels under the hospital. Hamas denies this and says the raid on the hospital is a war crime. Juliette Touma of UNRWA told Newsday, “We are watching with horror, with horror, what’s happening at Al-Shifa." Touma says that as well as it being a hospital, "tens of thousands" of people have taken refuge in the hospital buildings and grounds. She says places such as the Al-Shifa hospital should be protected under the international rules or war.
