More than 200 items of memorabilia belonging to the late pop superstar Prince are going to auction this week. One of the highlights of the sale is a white ruffled shirt worn by Prince during his 1985 American Music Awards performance of the song Purple Rain. The items are from a French collector who had originally hoped to open a museum but are now being auctioned online by RR Auction of Boston. Mi-Ling Stone is an ex-girlfriend of the artist and the inspiration behind his 1982 hit, Little Red Corvette. She told Newsday: “He was very concerned about the way he looked, I used to have to fight him in the mirror…I did try on his jeans and that was a moment because they didn’t fit, they wouldn’t go over my rump and he thought that was quite funny.” (Picture: Shows Prince in his famous white ruffled shirt during his Purple Rain tour.
