Myanmar rebels try to take regional capital

Newshour

Available for over a year

According to the UN, two million people have been forced from their homes in fighting in Myanmar. Antonio Guterres has appealed to all sides to protect non-combatants, and allow humanitarian aid in. Newshour's Tim Franks got a rare glimpse from a front line in Loikaw, the regional capital of Kayah state, in the east of the country -- not far from the border with Thailand. He spoke to one resident, who asked that we not use his name, but this is what he told us about the fighting inside his city.
