Mole Valley's offer to help recruit posties
Available for over a year
Leaders in Mole Valley are so worried about late letters and post missing for days they're offering to help Royal Mail find more staff. Bridget Kendrick is deputy leader of the district council and spoke to Adrian Harms. Royal Mail declined our latest offer of an interview but told us there are no current vacancies in Dorking. It says it welcomes any support Mole Valley can offer and encourages the sharing of jobs it advertises locally. Royal Mail says its HQ only received one letter from Mole Valley and replied on Monday. It insists postcode areas RH4 and RH5 are receiving deliveries at least every other day and it's working hard to improve the service. OFCOM recently fined Royal Mail £5.6m for late post.
