NHS services in Cumbria are starting to come under major strain - and one of our hospital trusts has been describing the pressures it's facing this week. The accident and emergency departments in Carlisle and Whitehaven are seeing significant demand. And, nationally this morning, ambulance staff say winter pressures are beginning to affect the health service and delays are putting patients at risk.
