One of the leading names in Indian classical music, Rashid Khan, has died at the age of 55. He was being treated for cancer at a hospital in Kolkata. There has been a great gush of tributes and many people consider Rashid Khan as the greatest Hindustani classical vocalist of his generation. Tim Franks has been hearing more about Rashid Khan's mastery and his influence from novelist and musician Amit Chaudhuri.
