Police hope CCTV will help search for missing boy

Available for over a year

Police in Leicester say they hope the recovery of CCTV around the site where a toddler fell into the River Soar on Sunday afternoon will help the search teams who are trying to find him. Officers say the footage was recovered from the Aylestone Meadows area and shows the tragic turn of events as the boy disappeared into the water on a family walk. Police have been at the scene along the River Soar, in the Aylestone area, since about 17:00 GMT on Sunday. Specialist dive teams will continue searching for the child today. At a media briefing at the scene Assistant Chief Constable Michaela Kerr and Chief Inspector David Stokes said that they're still doing their best to find him, and Julie Mackay, a former Detective Superintendent, gave Ady Dayan a sense of what police will be doing as the search for the toddler continues.
