Boy missing in river is bundle of joy, says family

Available for over a year

The parents of a two year old boy who's been missing since falling into the River Soar in Leicester have thanked the community for all the messages of support they've been sent. Xielo Maruziva was on a family walk in Aylestone Meadows when he went into the water at about 17:00 GMT on Sunday. A police search to find him, involving specialist teams, is now into its fifth day but has been hampered by poor weather. Xielo has been described by his family as "a bundle of joy". In a statement, his family thanked everyone involved in the ongoing search. His mother said: "Xielo is a cheeky, funny, friendly, smart, caring and independent little boy. The local Emmanuel Apostolic Church is holding prayers for Xielio. Pastor Samuel Gapara is from the Church and told Ady Dayman that the whole community is praying for the family.
