'He is an everyman hero'

Not by the Playbook

Available for over a year

On Sportshour we are building up to the Olympics in Paris by heading back over a century when the stories of the Games were not so well documented. Sprinter Harry Edwards was the first black man to represent Great Britain and the first to win medals when he picked up two bronze's in Antwerp in 1920. Broadcaster Neil Duncanson has written a book which document's Edwards' move to America and the impact he then made off the track. Neil tells Sportshour's Caroline Barker how Harry fought over school segregation and running food programmes in Harlem.
