Why an MP said there are 'no-go' areas in Tower Hamlets

A London MP and former mayoral candidate suggested there are "no-go" areas in parts of Tower Hamlets. Paul Scully appeared on 麻豆社 Radio London criticising fellow MP Lee Anderson's remarks that Islamists had "got control" of the mayor. Mr Scully also claimed people are concerned by "neighbourhoods changing". In a second interview, the Conservative told 麻豆社 London some people "are fearful for going out". 麻豆社 London's Home Affairs Correspondent Sonja Jessup explains why he made the comments. ***Since the time of recording, Paul Scully has apologised for the remarks. He said "I regret using language that could be misconstrued but at a time when we need to encourage moderate voices speaking up for our diverse communities, frankly my biggest regret is speaking out in the first place" ***
