What was it like interrogating killer Wayne Couzens?
Available for over a year
In March 2021, 33-year-old Sarah Everard was killed by a serving Metropolitan Police officer - Wayne Couzens - who abducted and raped her as she walked home near Clapham Common. Now, a new documentary for Â鶹Éç One and iPlayer looks at the Met’s investigation into Sarah’s murder, how this devastating crime unfolded, and its impact. The documentary is told by those closely involved in the case from the outset, many of whom are speaking on camera for the first time, including the Senior Investigating Officer, the Prosecuting Barrister and Sarah’s local MP. Ahead of the release of the documentary, Â鶹Éç Radio London's Salma El-Wardany spoke to the officer in charge of arresting and interrogating Couzens - DI Nick Harvey. DI Harvey was on his way to question Couzens at his house when he discovered the suspect was a police officer and said "the bottom dropped out of my stomach". (Image credit: Met Police)
