Opposition councillors want a meeting on the closure of St John's Market in Liverpool. Liverpool City Council said it had been left with "no option" but to close St John's Market, which was founded in 1822, "with immediate effect". Leader of the Liverpool Liberal Democrats, Councillor Carl Cashman, and Cabinet Member for Growth and Economy at Liverpool City Council, Councillor Nick Small, debated the issue on Breakfast.
