Why the future is bright for London's cabmen's shelters

Available for over a year

You've definitely seen them, even if you didn't quite know what they were. The green wooden huts called 'Cabmen's shelters' were built around London at a time when cabs were still horse-drawn. Once there were around 60, but now only 13 still exist. Now, to help preserve this heritage for future generations the Victorian shelter for taxi drivers in St John's Wood has been given Grade 2 listed status. It means all of them are now officially protected. Â鶹Éç Radio London's Ross Ryan has the story. (Image credit: Historic England)
