Calls to scrap VAT on bras

Available for over a year

There are calls for VAT on bras to be scrapped. It's over concerns correctly fitting ones are becoming unaffordable, meaning more women are turning to cheaper, ill-fitting bras that are affecting their health. The Society of Radiographers says they're a 'necessity' and has called the VAT 'discriminatory'. Laurie Truscott is a senior lecturer in contour fashion at De Montfort University. She explained to Ady Dayman the importance of a correctly fitting bra.
