New drugs known as nitazenes have been linked to more than 100 deaths in the UK since June last year. They're incredibly powerful synthetic opioids that some dealers have been hiding in other drugs like heroin. Now a 麻豆社 undercover investigation has revealed that thousands of adverts for the drugs were being posted on major social media platforms, sparking fears about its growing prevalence. In Oxfordshire in 2021, four people died in the space of just two weeks with the drug in their systems, some of the first known cases in the UK. The 麻豆社's Colin Campbell has been following the story.
