North East named food insecurity 'hotspot'

Available for over a year

A study has found people in the North East are more likely to need help buying food than those living anywhere else in Britain. Reporter Emily Unia meets Penny Walters, from Newcastle, who recalled struggling to raise her daughter with only £10 a month for groceries, saying: "We lived off pasta, pasta and even more pasta." Featuring Mark Gane, CEO of the bread and butter thing food club, based in Byker.
