'Vintage' weekend for transport enthusiasts

Available for over a year

Over 50 preserved buses and coaches spanning eight decades will be on show in Leicestershire this weekend for 'The Bus Rally and Railcar Weekend'. The event's being hosted by the Great Central Railway in Quorn, and promises the opportunity to sample the buses and trains many of us knew in our childhoods. This year's event sees the re-emergence of a very popular type of Leicester bus from the 1980s. Visitors will be able to ride on Leicester City Transport Bristol RE TRY122H for the first time in over 30 years after an extensive restoration project by its owner, assisted by Trust volunteers. Events Director Richard Bruce told Kelly Hinch more about what you can expect to see.
