How ancient Egyptians were trying to treat cancer

Newshour

Available for over a year

The ancient Egyptians, it seems, continue to surprise us. Researchers in Europe say that marks and cuts on a more than four-thousand year-old skull suggest they were trying to understand and treat cancer. Newshour spoke to Professor Edgard Camaros, a palaeopathologist at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Spain. He led the research which has been published in the journal Frontiers in medicine. (picture: Ancient female Egyptian skull; credit - Tondini/Isidro/Camaros/Frontiers in Medicine/PA Wire)
