Przewalski's horse: 'It bites and it kicks'

Newshour

Available for over a year

Wild horses have returned to the vast grasslands of Kazakhstan for the first time in at least 200 years. It's part of an ambitious scheme to return the endangered Przewalski's horses to their original habitats. They once roamed across the Central Asia steppe but died out because of competition from humans and domesticated horses, except for a small breeding population remained in European zoos. Now seven of these horses have been airlifted to Kazakhstan and released into the wild. Filip Masek from Prague Zoo explains how these rare animals will adapt in their new habitat.
