The Bedford flats service charge battle

Available for over a year

Residents of a block of flats in Bedford say they are “heartbroken” after more than a quarter of a million pounds in a shared maintenance fund allegedly vanished. Leaseholders at The Heights are taking legal action against the building’s owner, Samsons Limited, in a dispute against their service charges and what they call a “severe lack of service”. Samsons Limited sole director, Mohammed Saleem, told a tribunal hearing he was "happy for the police to check into" the missing money. He told the 鶹: “I really am sorry that the leaseholders are not satisfied that they are not getting the service but unfortunately they do not appreciate the issues and the problems that are being faced on a daily basis in this building.” Phil Shepka has been speaking to some of the residents about their situation.
