Coventry's conjoined twins

Secret Coventry

Available for over a year

In May 1970, at Walsgrave Hospital, Anna and Barbara were born conjoined. Before their separation at Birmingham Children's Hospital, no other UK-born conjoined twins had been successfully separated. Doctors did not know if the operation to separate them was going to be successful. The pair say they were lucky to only be joined by one organ, the liver, which can repair itself. Â鶹Éç CWR's Richard William spoke to the sisters, who are nothing but grateful to the NHS regarding their journey.
