Cancer Research UK is throwing its weight behind our county with an unprecedented £173 million investment that will bring world class discovery science to our part of the world. It'll go to the biomedical research campus centred around Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. It's the biggest investment the charity has ever made outside London, and is being seen as an endorsement of the life sciences strategy the University has been developing with the NHS, one that has already attracted pharmaceutical companies like AstraZeneca and GSK.
