A 150 year old church spire in New Brighton
Available for over a year
In 2016, the spire at St James Church in New Brighton was completely dismantled and restored to the tune of hundreds of thousands of pounds. Lots of the money was raised through donations. The vicar says thanks to a tax relief scheme for historic churches, they were also able to claim back the VAT on the work. But will the Chancellor decide to scrap the scheme in the upcoming budget?
