How a father-son duo restored iconic Abbey Road mixing desk

Available for over a year

In 1968 Abbey Road built a mixing desk better than ever before and called it the EMI T.G.12345. It was written into music history when the Beatles used it to record their album Abbey Road. But after being disassembled it sat unused for more than five decades - and even spent some time in a skip - until it was rebuilt by father and son, Malcolm and Hamish Jackson. Our reporter Gareth Lloyd went to meet them. (Image credit: Getty Images)
