Worcestershire ex-England star set for huge ride

Available for over a year

Former Wolves and Crystal Palace footballer Geoff Thomas will ride his seventh Tour de France in June, raising money for the same charity which has helped him on a 20-year journey fighting leukaemia. In 2003, the tough tackling midfielder was given only three months to live, just a year after retiring from professional football, diagnosed with a form of blood cancer. He entered remission after life-saving treatment with the charity Cure Leukaemia, and now regular has been raising millions to fund clinical trials which can change lives. Geoff tells Tom Edwards how Gareth Southgate and Gary Lineker have been huge supporters of his fundraising missions, cycling more than 2,000 miles across France with the charity's Tour 21 team.
