Hereford free bus service cancelled

Available for over a year

The 'zipper' buses have been axed, amid concerns over costs. Hereford City Council has announced they won't be renewing the contract for the three bright green electric buses in 2026. The scheme was launched with funds from the Government's Levelling Up Fund, but the council has since said it's become far too expensive to run. Approximately 500 people a day were getting on and off the 'zipper' buses. Tom Edwards speaks to Councillor Kevin Tillett, the Mayor of Hereford.
