Why is Evesham Town Hall in such a state?

Available for over a year

Council chiefs have taken legal action over the state of the 16th century building, which has a hole in the ceiling, rotting window frames, rusting pipes and peeling paintwork. Even the Town Hall's well-known clock tower has had to be shut off due to water leakage. The site is owned by a private company, who have been handed a Section 146 Notice, meaning they must repair the building or face court action. Tom Edwards reports. The owner of the building is PJK Investments, which also owns the Riverside Shopping Centre. The Council says the Section 146 Notice was a last resort, after they repeatedly ignored attempts to engage. The Â鶹Éç has also contacted PJK Investments for comment; as of publishing they have not responded to us.
