Six of the most senior police officers in the country have written an article in the Times, saying that the Labour manifesto commitments to safer streets will not be met without them getting more money. Speaking to Today's Amol Rajan, Met Police chief Sir Mark Rowley says the government's pledges are "very ambitious" and police forces are "carrying the scar tissue of years of austerity cuts".
