Retired US General says ‘zero confidence’ in Gabbard

Weekend

Available for over a year

Former Commanding General of the US Army in Europe Ben Hodges says he has “zero confidence” in US Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard. The retired general told the 鶹 he is sceptical about US military intervention in Iran. His comments came after the US intelligence chief walked back on her previous statements regarding Iran’s nuclear programme. She said that Iran could produce a nuclear weapon "within weeks". In March, Gabbard told a Senate committee that Tehran was not building nuclear weapons. Now she says the media had distorted her words. Retired General Hodges has been speaking to Weekend’s Paul Henley. Could Gabbard’s shift pave the way for US involvement in the Israel-Iran conflict?
