Can ketamine treatment help cure PTSD in Ukraine?

Weekend

Available for over a year

The war in Ukraine has left the nation grappling with widespread trauma and deteriorating mental health. One clinic Kyiv is offering ketamine induced psychotherapy as a fast-track cure for post-traumatic stress disorder. Ketamine assisted therapy has been used widely as a treatment for depression, anxiety and treatment resitant mental health conditions, but using the treatment for PTSD is relatively new. Weekend's Krupa Padhy has been speaking to Kateryna Rotar a Ukrainian army veteran who received the pioneering treatment earlier this year, and the doctor who treated her, Dr Vladislav Matrenitsky.
