Get to know: Wythall's Wimbledon winner

Available for over a year

Lloyd Glasspool chose tennis, and has made it his life ever since. He has won many of the biggest doubles tournaments going, the hard way, breaking through on his own, as someone who has to win to earn a living and make a career. The Redditch-born, former Coppice Primary School pupil, trained at Edgbaston Priory Tennis Club and went to a hugely prestigious tennis university in Texas. He took home the 2025 men's doubles title with his partner Julian Cash in a historic win at SW19. He tells Richard Hurst how he would miss school trips, to focus on tennis, often travelling on his own to tournaments abroad aged fourteen, being put up on the floors of schools in Finland. He says that choosing a doubles partner is similar to choosing a romantic partner, and that he was star struck at his first ever training session, picking the brains and admiring the work ethic of Sir Andy Murray.
