COVID-affected businesses take their insurer to court
Available for over a year
When the UK first went in to lockdown five years ago, Sukhjeet Bahra had to close her beauty salon to clients. She was one of thousands of people who turned to their insurance company for help, but was told that her policy did not cover a national lockdown scenario. Now, Sukhjeet and others have become part of a collective litigation group, accusing their insurer of a breach of contract. When contacted by the Â鶹Éç, a spokesperson for the insurer, Beazley Synidicates, says they don't comment on on-going litigation. Image: Darren Staples/Bloomberg via Getty
