There are hopes part of the frontage or beams could be retained in any rebuilding. Nigel Huddleston, MP for Droitwich & Evesham, says there is precedent of saving historic parts of structures, to preserve their image, allowing them to pick up heritage or lottery funding. He says he hopes that, depending on the state of the building after the fire, some of the original flavour of The Raven will remain, subject to meeting legal requirements and those of the many stakeholders involved.
