In 1875 Dawley's Captain Matthew Webb became the first man to swim the English Channel becoming an instant celebrity and public hero overnight. Monday 25th August 2025 marks the 150th anniversary of that incredible feat. Â鶹Éç Radio Shropshire's Adam Green asked students at Captain Webb Primary School in Dawley what they knew about the Shropshire legend.
