'Lost village' uncovered at Rutland water
Available for over a year
Water levels at Rutland Water reservoir have dropped considerably due to the hot and dry weather. The low water levels have revealed a glimpse of the past - a number of interesting relics from the landscape before the reservoir's creation in 1975. For local people it's provided a rare opportunity to see some hidden treasures of Rutland's history including the ruins of village buildings, and the remains of woodland which is now underwater. Â鶹Éç Leicester's Ben Jackson went for a look around with Rutland resident Tim Appleton, who was the last resident to live in the Rutland reservoir area before it was covered by water in 1975.
