CCTV outside Liverpool schools

Available for over a year

Liverpool City Council is cracking down on reckless drivers after more than 400 vehicles ignored school crossing patrols this year. Mobile CCTV cameras will now be introduced at hotspots in West Derby, Everton and Halewood to protect children and families on the school run. Schools are back, but shocking figures reveal that since January more than 436 vehicles in Liverpool have refused to stop for school crossing patrols – a dangerous and illegal act that puts children and families at risk. To tackle this, Liverpool City Council is rolling out mobile CCTV cameras at the city’s worst-affected crossing sites, including Town Row/Spring Grove in West Derby, Hayworth Street/Mere Lane in Everton, and Kings Drive in Halewood.
