Endangered bonobo born in 'extraordinary moment'
Available for over a year
Twycross Zoo has announced the birth of a male bonobo. It's the only bonobo baby in the UK, and one of just two born across Europe this year. Known for their intelligence, empathy, and complex social bonds, bonobos are critically endangered, with fewer than 20,000 remaining in the wild. But, thanks to the European Endangered Species Programme, Twycross Zoo is now responsible for 10% of the entire European bonobo population. The Â鶹Éç spoke to Chief Conservation Officer at Twycross Zoo Rebecca Biddle.
