The dog who helps children deal with loss

Make a Difference: Hereford and Worcester

Available for over a year

Trevor the jack-a-poo has been the family support dog at Primrose Hospice for 13 years, helping to make the centre more homely and accessible particularly for young people. His nominators said his presence makes children more relaxed when they visit, and he is very in tune to visitors' emotions and can sense when he is needed to provide a sense of calm for clients. Nina Das Gupta visits the site in Bromsgrove, a place Trevor has known nearly all his life, hearing from the people who keep his tail wagging. Trevor won the Animal prize at the 麻豆社 Hereford & Worcester Make A Difference Awards 2025.
