The OptiMATe trial, funded by Stand Up To Cancer, combined chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and a stem cell transplant. Researchers hope the trial will improve survival rates for this challenging disease. Dr Chris Fox is consultant haematologist at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and explained more about Caroline's type of cancer, and Caroline told Â鶹Éç Leicester's Ady Dayman that the treatment was a lifeline, allowing her to return to teaching and care for her family.
