Sweaty Betty offers £4k for slogan use and silence
Available for over a year
A personal trainer who claims a woman’s activewear brand used her slogan says she’d been offered £4,000 to drop her legal challenge and keep the deal confidential.  Georgina Cox, from Middlesbrough, accused Sweaty Betty of ‘’threatening her‘’ with a defamation suit.  She says the company used her ‘’wear the damn shorts‘’ phrase from her Instagram posts without attributing it to its latest campaign.  Sweaty Betty said it ‘’respectfully disagreed'’ with her claims and said the slogan had been part of its campaign for three years.  Stuart Whincup reports.
