Secret Lincolnshire

Available for over a year

Aleen Cust wanted to be a vet from a very early age - but as a woman, she was not allowed to take her veterinary exams. As a result Aleen, who was second cousin to the third Earl Brownlow who owned Belton House near Grantham, practised unregistered for many years before finally being recognised as Britain's first female vet by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
