Remembering the Hartlepool Bombardment

On the 16 December 1914, German vessels fired explosives for 45 minutes at the North East coastline hitting Hartlepool, Whitby and Scarborough. Every year, at the exact time of the bombardment, Hartlepool stops to remember the events of that day. Louise Hobson was on the Headland meeting those taking part in the commemorations including Diane Stephens from the Heugh Battery Museum.
