"People go without showers to put food on table"

Make a Difference: Hampshire, Dorset and IoW

Available for over a year

Thousands of people across the South are feeling the impact of the rising cost of living. For many, everyday essentials like soap, toothpaste, and personal care products are now unaffordable. Throughout January Â鶹Éç Radio Solent is helping collect donated toiletries and cleaning products so local community schemes can share them with anyone who needs a little extra support. You can be part of the Â鶹Éç Radio Solent Soapbox Appeal by donating unopened items at drop-off points across Hampshire, Dorset, and the Isle of Wight. Michelle Bennett is the founder of the Castleman Community Larder - one of the schemes that will receive donated items and spoke to Â鶹Éç Radio Solent's Alun Newman.
