‘I survived a 30ft fall at Welsh waterfall’

Available for over a year

Hereford hiker Suzie Dyer was left with injuries to her hip, back and pelvis. She says the memory of the fall, 'the moment which changed everything' is very clear for her. Suzie describes the experience of being separated from her walking partner and being rescued by members of the public and volunteers. The experienced hiker was walking in Waterfall Country in Bannau Brycheiniog, also known as the Brecon Beacons, on New Year's Day. Both Natural Resources Wales (NRW) and the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Association (BBNPA) said there had been significant improvements made to the area, including to signage, footpaths and steps. Three walked have died in the area since 2023. Image credit: Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team/Suzie Dyer
