Staffordshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Ben Adams explains why services need to ask for more money from the taxpayer. Staffordshire tax payers will see the share of their council tax bill which funds fire and rescue increase by just over 5%. It means a Band D household will pay an extra £5 a year – or 10p a week – in their Fire and Rescue Precept, taking the annual bill to £96.77. This comes as the policing element is also set to go up by 5.22%.
